The four major signs of recurrent pancreatic cancer are increased pain, jaundice , fluid in the abdomen (ascites) and weight loss. Recurrent cancer can be treated with palliative surgical or radiation therapy . • Chemotherapy rarely may produce tumor regression . Treatment options are the same as for Stages II, III and IV—5-FU, FAM, SMF, 5-FU + leucovorin and PALA + 5-FU. (PALA is an investigational drug that increases the antitumor activity of 5FU.)
